Optic Arrest
or: How I Learned to Stop Hoping and Love the Crushing Weight of Time
Zach Salas founded Optic Arrest in 2011. A literal lifetime ago. He writes the lyrics and the music. He refuses to say anything nice about himself but he’s been trying to fix that.
Abel Gonzalez Jr. has been playing in bands in San Antonio for decades. For centuries. He can’t be killed and refuses to die. He plays bass and does vocals for Optic Arrest right now but goodness, does he have a gorgeous voice. He fronted What? The City Bears before he was hunted to near extinction along with Alejandro and Gio for their valuable hides and sweet meat. They are currently in hiding in Optic Arrest.
Alejandro Abeledo, hailing from the Greater Antilles, has played drums in bands for so very long. He started playing in Optic Arrest not too long ago and has contributed a chaos that hasn’t existed in the band before. He is also a talented visual artist, but I don’t know how to add anything about that here so just ask him next time you see him.
Gio Medrano is an enigma. A multi instrumentalist, constantly on “The Grind,” Gio contributes keyboard to Optic Arrest these days.
Jacob Isaac Gameshark used to contribute lead guitar for Optic Arrest while in hiding from from Porridge Fist, but little has been heard from him ever since he took a trip up into the mountains searching for forbidden guitar techniques. His body was never recovered, though some say he still wanders the frigid north to this day.
“We live not by things, but by the meaning of things. It is needful to transmit the PASSWORDs from GENERATION TO GENERATION.”
